Our mission statement is to empower people by building a vibrant ecosystem for simple and secure data transfers. We're a new 501c4 nonprofit working in partnership with for-profit industry to develop data portability tools and engage in data portability related public policy.
We are building a brand-new organization for the ground up; currently we have only one employee (me, typing this, the executive director), and our (read: my) goal is to be inclusive from the get-go as the organization's operational norms and practices develop. I have worked in some environments I consider to be reasonably inclusive (notably for many years at Mozilla), however inclusion is a goal without terminal state, needing constant investment and allowing for continuous improvement.
