We apply the IDEA framework to all we do, from growing a diverse team within the Foundation to coalition building with organizations and people around the world, to promoting trust-based philanthropic relationships and democratizing the development and rewards of AI and data. These values are not just imbedded in the demographic makeup of our diverse 30 person team but in the community-first, person-in-the-loop philosophy our ethical Products and Services team operates under. Our recruitment processes are intentional from the first step to the end; from running our job descriptions under Gendered Language Decoders, conducting bias training for every person involved in the interview process. We are especially intentional in where we source our candidates from, ensuring proper visibility for URMs in tech and philanthropy - two spaces we know have miles to go when it comes to representation.
To build a better future in the digital era, the benefits of technological advancement must be shared by all. As a Foundation, we invest in activities that lead to greater inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in how AI and data are conceptualized, developed, applied, and deployed.
