<ul> <li>Application screening. We might reach out with clarifying questions via email or ask for quick phone conversation.</li> <li>Reach out to qualified candidates for a 1st interview.</li> <li>Interviews. This is not a technical interview, more about how a candidate works, what their disposition is. Sharing how they problem solve and communicate. On our end, we'll share the history of the project so folks know what they're getting into. Exit point for both sides of the conversation.</li> <li>Work assessment, for those who make it through the interviews. We send candidates a light task to complete on their own time. It's really to see if they can set up the code base and how good they are at asking questions. Our code is actually public, it's got an anti-capitalist license. You can check it out and set it up in advance if you want (https://gitlab.com/food-rescue-alliance/tomato). A stipend will be provided for your time.</li> <li>2nd Interview, technical. You walk us through your solution and we provide feedback. Essentially, we want to see how you implement features, ask questions, and take feedback.</li> <li>Reference Checks</li> <li>Make an offer to a qualified candidate.</li> <ul>

Are you a Full Stack Engineer looking to make an impact at a mission-driven company? Do you thrive in high-autonomy environments? Do you crave a work culture that values your humanity above an arbitrary feature deadline?

Rootable helps grassroots organizations create a more just and less wasteful food system. It provides volunteer logistics software that supports organizations in local resource re/distribution while building collective power to leverage data, influence policy, and invest profits back into our communities. A social enterprise startup cooperatively owned by four Colorado food rescues, the platform centers relationships and local tech ecologies over continuous growth. We're looking for our first engineering team hire, a full stack engineer to help turn our MVP into a fully-featured platform.

This role will make an impact and provides the opportunity to interact with nonprofits, mutual aid organizations, and activists organizing volunteers. We are looking for a passionate, user-centric full stack engineer that is excited about working on meaningful and complex technical problems that have a positive impact on our users' lives. You'll be employee #2.
